BHSU Student Organizations Host Rake-A-Thon Fundraiser

October 30, 2025

Black Hills State University student organizations Campus Activities Board (CAB) and Collegiate Outdoor Leadership Program (COLP) are hosting a Rake-A-Thon fundraiser November 7-9.

Students from the organizations will collaborate to rake 15 yards in Spearfish over the course of three days. Each yard will be raked by three or four student volunteers for one hour. Students will bag the leaves, but community members will be responsible for disposing of the leaves. Community members can sign up for a time by contacting Teddi Dwyer, Co-President of the Campus Activities Board at 701-770-3988. The fundraiser has a minimum donation of $25, which will go towards a local charity.

“This is an event that we saw had a big impact the last time we held it. I am excited to bring it back this year and partner with COLP to have more students participate, and hopefully, to make a bigger impact on the Spearfish Community,” said Dwyer.
