BHSU Included in the Princeton Review’s Guide to Green Colleges

December 04, 2025

Black Hills State University has been named one of 388 colleges included in the Princeton Review’s 2026 “Guide to Green Colleges.”

The “Guide to Green Colleges” is an annual free online resource that the Princeton Review has published since 2010 for students seeking schools that practice and promote environmental responsibility.

“We are honored to be recognized by the Princeton Review in its Guide to Green Colleges. Being recognized shows our steady commitment to our environmental and sustainability goals. We are proud of this recognition and look forward to welcoming students who want to be part of this work,” said Debbie Liddick, Interim Associate Vice President of Facilities and Sustainability at BHSU.

Institutions are selected for the guide based on survey answers from college administrators during the 2024-2025 school year, as well as student feedback regardingtheir experience of environmental awareness and conservation efforts on campus. The surveys were analyzed to create Green Rating scores, which were reported on a scale of 60 to 99. The 388 colleges selected for the guide had scores of 80 or higher.

BHSU was also one of the 23 Upper Midwest Association for Campus Sustainability (UMACS) members to make the guide.
