SD CEO Welcomes Bailey Sadowsky as Marketing Specialist and Announces the Promotion of Carissa Hauck to Program Coordinator

As SD CEO West continues to evolve, new staff and new roles guide growth

SD CEO West Women’s Business Center, an organization that provides training, counseling, and technical assistance to aspiring entrepreneurs, business owners and all working women in the state of South Dakota, announces the promotion of Carissa Hauck to Program Coordinator and welcomes Bailey Sadowsky as its new Marketing Specialist.

“Carissa Hauck has expertly served as SD CEO West’s Marketing Specialist since August 2021 and brings a solid understanding of both the programmatic and grant financial requirements to the Program Coordinator position,” said Michelle Kane, SD CEO West Women’s Business Center, Director, “As our Marketing Specialist, Carissa has enhanced SD CEO West’s social media presence and was instrumental in helping to create a new website for the organization. I am thrilled to work alongside her in the new role of Program Coordinator.”

As the new Program Coordinator, Carissa brings her experience from her previous role as the Marketing Specialist of SD CEO West along with her three years of entrepreneurial experience as co-founder of Scobi Kombucha, which she sold less than a year ago.

While at Scobi Kombucha, Carissa created a successful company from the ground up. She accomplished everything from developing a product that is the talk of the town, to forming a team that is motivated and engaged with company goals, to a community and clients that are happy and proud to support a genuine local business.

“The opportunity to continue to work with the amazing women at SD CEO West is a chance to help others in their entrepreneurial dreams. It brings me a lot of joy to help others find success,” said Hauck.

Carissa received her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration & Human Resources from Black Hills State University in 2018. An active student on campus, Carissa was the Administrative Assistant for the International Student Organization, Secretary & Treasurer for the Honors Club, Business Honor Society Member of Beta Gamma Sigma, and participant in the Cultural Ambassador Program. Upon graduation, she did so with Honors and as an International Regent Scholar. In her free time, Carissa strives to live an active and adventurous lifestyle by training jiu jitsu, backpacking throughout the US, and traveling abroad.

SD CEO West welcomes another BHSU graduate and entrepreneur, Bailey Sadowsky, owner of Shadow Sky Creative Co., to the team.

“As a current business owner, Bailey understands the opportunities and challenges entrepreneurs face when it comes to executing smart marketing strategies,” said Kane, “She is also a talented graphic designer, artist and photographer, and this experience will not only elevate SD CEO’s presence in the marketplace.”

Bailey will be managing the marketing strategy, print materials, market research, social media, website, and other marketing projects for SD CEO in Spearfish and will assist with the continued growth of the new Women’s Business Center in Sioux Falls.

Graduating in 2017, Bailey holds two Bachelor’s Degrees from Black Hills State University in Corporate Communications and Graphic Design with dual minors in Entrepreneurial Studies and Communication Arts and a Certificate in Management. She is the founder of Shadow Sky Creative Co., a creative services company creating marketing and graphic design solutions for data driven brands. Bailey also served as the Sales and Communication Coordinator with the Spearfish Area Chamber of Commerce where she designed and launched the organization’s rebrand, built relationships with business partners and led the Young Professionals organization. You can find Bailey enjoying the outdoors, leading painting and design classes and volunteering for many Spearfish and Northern Hills organizations.

“Being familiar with SD CEO as a long-time event attendee, Women In Leadership graduate and working with SD CEO team on graphic design projects helped me to know that it was the kind of organization I wanted to be a part of,” said Sadowsky, “Along with marketing and design projects, I look forward to bringing my own experiences as a business owner to the table to help other women find their own success.”
