NEW AVAILABLE PROGRAMS

A.S. Networking and Security Admin

Description:

  • Program designed to help students gain experience with installing firewalls and working with routers or switches along with the fundamentals of basic security, systems, and networking.
  • Housed at Dakota State University, students can enroll in this program as the first step in a 2+2 program in progression to receive a B.S. degree from DSU. Partnership with BHSU includes general education courses delivered through BHSU in Rapid City. DSU classes will be delivered asynchronously online with three face to face meetings each semester in Rapid City.
  • All students will be assigned an online academic advisor from the Beacom College at DSU. Students will also be assigned a BHSU-RC advisor while attending the Rapid City campus.
  • Credit for prior experience and transferring in courses for the major will be handled through the DSU Beacom College faculty on a student-by-student basis.


Job Titles: Graduates will have the skills necessary to work with information technology infrastructure required in today’s businesses, with job titles that include system administrator, network system engineer, system analyst, network analyst, network application developer and technical consultants.

Criminal Justice to Human Services - Justice Studies 2+2

Description:

  • This program is designed for students who have graduated with an A.A.S. Criminal Justice degree from Western Dakota Tech pursuing a B.S. degree through BHSU specifically in Human Services-Justice Studies.
  • A block of 60 credit hours will automatically transfer in to BHSU requirements.
  • Students will take an additional 60 credit hours from BHSU within the Human Services-Justice Studies curriculum and any remaining general education requirements.

Courses: Remaining General Education Courses include ENGL 201, College level math, two arts and Humanities, two natural sciences and labs, and Introductory Speech. Human Services core requirements. Justice Studies emphasis credits.

 

B.S. Applied Sciences in Leadership

  • The Leadership degree program will complement students’ previous coursework and will prepare them for leadership roles in their chosen field.
  • The program, offered on BHSU main campus and at BHSU-Rapid City, is specifically designed for transfer students seeking immediate advancement opportunities and will work well for adult learners seeking a baccalaureate degree.
  • Program provides students who have graduated from Western Dakota Tech an opportunity to continue their education and receive a Bachelor’s Degree.

Specific courses for the degree include: Leadership Theory and Practice; Strategic Planning; Modern Leadership Theories; Organizational Behavior and Theory; Small Business Management; and Organizational Communication
