Matthew Bauman joined Black Hills State University in 2010. Before that, he earned his MFA in Creative Writing from the University of Idaho and his MA in English from the University of South Dakota. In addition to teaching a variety of writing classes, he serves as director of the Writing Assistance Center, coordinator of the Bellman Writing Awards, and faculty advisor for Three Peaks Review, BHSU’s student-run literary journal. His creative nonfiction has been published in Passengers Journal, Briar Cliff Review, North Dakota Quarterly, and elsewhere. Being from the Black Hills, he’s ever grateful to live, work, and play in a place he’s always called home.
