Black Hills State University Honors Retiring Staff and Faculty

Black Hills State University celebrated 11 retiring faculty and staff members during the Retiree Reception held on campus Thursday, April 27. Altogether, this year’s retirees gave approximately 201 years of service to the University and the South Dakota Board of Regents. 
 
“To all our retirees who we are honoring, thank you for all that you've given to BH and especially all you've given to our students,” said BHSU President Laurie S. Nichols. “It's noteworthy. We appreciate it so much and we wish you all the happiness in your retirement years.” 
 
Retirees recognized included:  
 
Greg Brenner, groundskeeper – 6.47 years of service 
David Crawford, professor of accounting – 14 years of services 
Brian Eberhard, associate professor of education – 7.75 years of service 
Richard Eberlein, software developer – 20.22 years of service 
Jodi Gabriel, program assistant I – 25.76 years of service 
Bert Juhrend, professor of theatre – 18.85 years of service 
Jean Osborn, program assistant I – 10.55 years or service 
Phil Pesheck, director of public safety – 11.75 years of service 
Betsy Silva, dean of the College of Education & Behavioral Sciences – 30.85 years of service 
Tony Silva, athletic trainer and instructor of physical education – 30.80 years of service
Tracey Steinbach, support services analyst - 24.22 years of service 
 
Retiring staff & faculty with 20 or more years of service were given special recognition for their long-term dedication with a complimentary lifetime activity certificate for admission to BHSU events.
