BHSU Scholarship Gala Announced for July 30

Black Hills State University will be hosting its eighth annual Scholarship Gala Saturday, July 30, at 5:00 p.m. This year’s theme has been announced as “Inspiring Bright Futures,” a nod to the important role scholarships play in the success of BHSU’s students.

Tickets are $125 per person or a table for eight may be reserved for $1,000. Admission includes a three-course meal, open bar, live entertainment, and auction participation. Tickets can be purchased online at bhgala22.givesmart.com or by calling 605-642-6385.

The BHSU Scholarship Gala seeks to raise additional funds for the institution’s academic scholarships. Since its inception, the gala has raised over a million dollars for deserving students. This year’s goal is to raise an additional $150,000 through gala ticket sales and auction.

“During the last school year, BHSU gave out over $2 million in scholarships, so the Scholarship Gala plays a vital role in making that possible. Not only do scholarships help hard-working students pay for college but having academic scholarships available help us attract some of the best and brightest to study here,” said Steve Meeker, vice president for University Advancement. “We are so thankful to the individuals and businesses in our community that contribute to this cause.”

First Interstate Bank is the event’s title sponsor and has been since the first BHSU Scholarship Gala in 2015. Pioneer Bank & Trust is this year's open bar and live drive sponsor.

Tickets for this event often sell out quickly, so those interested in attending are encouraged to buy tickets as soon as possible.
