BHSU TO CELEBRATE SWARM DAYS OCT. 2-7

Black Hills State University will host their annual Swarm Days celebration Oct. 2-7. The theme of this year’s event is “Sting in Space.”

Each year over Swarm Days, BHSU students, staff, faculty, alumni, and the community come together to celebrate tradition and school spirit over a week of activities including the parade and homecoming football game.

All are invited to Swarm Days events throughout the week. Coronation and Burning of the BH takes place Thursday, Oct. 5 at 7 p.m. On Friday, the Alumni Awards Luncheon occurs at 11 a.m. and the Hall of Fame Banquet is at 6 p.m. For Friday’s ticketed events, please RSVP by Sept. 22 to Tom Wheaton at Tom.Wheaton@BHSU.edu or (605) 642-6385. The parade is Saturday, Oct. 7, at 10 a.m. followed by a tailgate social at 11:15 a.m. before the football game against New Mexico Highlands University at 1 p.m.

This year, the parade route will start at the Young Center parking lot and travel south down St. Joe before turning on Jackson Blvd towards Main Street. The parade will then turn on to Main Street and end at Grant Street.
