BLACK HILLS STATE UNIVERSITY BUZZ CARD GOES MOBILE

Black Hills State University students, faculty, and staff can now add their school IDs (Buzz Card Mobile) to Apple Wallet or Google Pay and use their iPhones, Apple Watches, or Android phones to conveniently, safely, and securely access campus buildings, purchase meals, and more.

With mobile IDs, students can complete any action that would have previously required a physical ID card — both on and off campus — with just their iPhone, Apple Watch, or Android phone. Students simply place their device near a reader to enter residence halls, campus buildings, buy lunch, make purchases at campus stores, print documents, and more.

The move from physical cards to contactless Buzz Cards on iPhone, Apple Watch, or Android phones allows for transactions that are safe, convenient, and highly secure. BHSU can also issue school IDs remotely without the need to see students in-person or print and mail physical cards, resulting in a cost-effective and environmentally friendly process.

Buzz Card Mobile on iPhone, Apple Watch, or Android phones is protected by two-factor authentication to ensure only the student can access their own account, even if someone else knows their password.

To set up their mobile school ID, students must download the eAccounts app, authenticate with their university credentials, and then add their Buzz Card Mobile to Apple Wallet or Google Pay. For more information, visit BHSU.edu/BuzzCard.

The Buzz Card office (Info Center in Student Union) will be permanently closed on Friday, Sept. 9. After that date, please see the BHSU Help Desk in the Library for your Buzz Card needs.

If you need help setting up your Buzz Card Mobile, you can contact the Buzz Card Office by email at BuzzCard@BHSU.edu or call 605-642-6513.
